The Romans try to take over!!! Again!!!

It was just another day in Jerusealm...... until the Romans came at least.Well, from what I've heard, the Romans are trying to take over. This is what they told the Jews, " We are going to take over and all of the Jews have to practice our religion. The jews weren't just going to give up that easy. After trying to fight for three years,the Jews left to hide and they built themselves a fort called Masada.It was built on a rock on the edge of a desert. It took the Romans seven months to invade because they had to built a huge dirt ramp to get up to the fort because of how high it was. When the Romans got up there they found that all of the Jews had already killed themselves because they did not want to be taken as prisoners or give the Romans the glory of an unfair victory. There were 960 men, women, and Jewish children that had died inside.

Not all of the Jews were in fort Masada. Many of the Jews were taken as slaves by the Romans, and they were not able to live in Jerusalem any more. The Jews tried to revolt but they lost. They still did not give in and were still practicing their religion.(They kept it alive.) They would still practice their religion in many ways.One being, making different religious practices.They also used the practices for a way to interact socially.The Jews just might survive!!

"It was horrible!!" the man exclaimed.

Here are some questions we asked this citizen of Jerusalem.

Q: Why were the Romans there?

A: There were there because they wanted to take over the Jewish people and to take over Jerusalem.

Q: What were the reasons Fort Masada being built on a high rock on the edge of a desert?

A: Well, first of all it was built so high was so that the Jews were able to see when or if someone was going to attack then. Second reason, so that they were hard to reach if someone was going to attack them. And third reason, so that if they did not want to be captured, they could just simply jump off the high rock edge and they would not feel anything.

Q: What was the deal made with God? (jesus)

A: The deal was that God would protect the Jews if they promised to love and obey God's ten comendments.

Q: So what happened after the Romans were trying to make the Jews practice Greek gods?

A: Well sadly, they burned down all of Jerusalem and the holy temple that was there. To the Jews, the temple was the one symble of their religion.

Q: What about that last wall that was left standing? What was the name?

A: Yes, this wall is named the Wailing Wall. The Jews still mourn their loss on it today.

And one more question: Where were you when all of this was happening? =)

A: Haha!! I was first in the Masada Fort. I descided to leave because I didn't want to be killed or for me to kill myself. I didn't give in to the Roman's religion, and I am back in Jerusalem living in the city that used to have the holy temple. Now all there is left, is a wall. =(

Weather report!!!

So, you may be wondering. How is the weather over in Jersalem? Right now it is very hot and dry. This is probably because Jerusalem is located mostly on a desert. This name of the desert is the Judean Desert. On the edge of this desert, Fort Masada was built. There are some rumers as to how the Jews died in this fort. One of the reasons being the weather. Some people say that the Jews died from dehydration because of how hot and dry it is. This is a possiblity.. Well I guess we won't really know how they died, because no one is alive that was there when it happened. You will have to descide for yourself. How did they die? Was it from the weather, or was it something else?
